Executive Director
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the work of a highly respected NGO in the Niger Delta, established in 2004. We have built our reputation through our pragmatic, collaborative approach to bringing about positive change in a difficult environment; our grassroots presence in the Niger Delta; and our deep knowledge and understanding of the context in which we work. Having experienced the impacts of Covid-19 and the shifting donor landscape – particularly in the UK – we have rebuilt our work over the past two years and SDN is currently on a growth trajectory. Our existing Executive Director is standing down for personal reasons, and we are now seeking an individual who can pick this up. The immediate priorities for the Executive Director will be to ensure our improved fundraising activities remain on track and we continue to build a diverse network of donors; and to lead the development of a new strategy to ensure SDN’s work remains relevant to the challenges that communities face in the Niger Delta. Our existing Executive Director is planning to remain at SDN until approximately the middle of summer this year, to provide the successful candidate with an extended handover.
