Duration: 60 minutes
Niger Delta Watch 2019 is a project to support democracy in Nigeria.
We have trained nearly 100 trained citizen Election Observers, Data Analysts and Social Media Analysts as part of this project. They are generating information on incidents relating to the 2019 Nigerian election campaign in the states of Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, and Akwa Ibom.
The goal of Niger Delta Watch is to generate accurate information
on the election campaign as it unfolds. This is for the benefit of the Nigerian
government and Nigerian electoral agencies, as well as journalists,
researchers, civil society organisations, and others working to support democracy
in Nigeria.
After our first weeks of reporting, this online briefing is an opportunity for
report recipients based in Nigeria and abroad to join a conversation about the elections.
Niger Delta Watch 2019 project staff will facilitate the discussion, which will
focus on key Niger Delta issues highlighted in the reports so far. The agenda
is below:
- Overview of the project.
- Key issues highlighted in our early reporting.
- Participant question and answer session.
The discussion will be held online. Please ensure you have downloaded www.zoom.us before the briefing. A joining
URL will be shared with participants beforehand.
If you or one of your colleagues would like to join, please email kevin.mccann@sdn.ngo to RSVP, including the following details:
